Got up at 6 am. Just going to bed now (9:50pm). In between I learned that nitre can seriously suck. Thought we were doing grand until just after noon. Then, no matter how hard I fired, the syrup she would not rebound from under temperature. Let la machine cool. Peer in pan section closest to drawoff. A beach of sand piled up 1/3 as wide as the section from front to back. Remove pan. Push contents through filter press. Apply second pan. Back to the acting.
In the end, we bottled just over 10 gallons today. That is a milestone. Most production in one day so far on the hillside. Needless to say, I am spent. Nighty nite, don't let the bedbugs bite.
