Hunter's Pancake Breakfast

Apples!  Enough to start giving away a bag to neighbors and down state existing syrup buyers.  Building that market one person at a time.  For sure, the green ones are Suncrisp apples.  All of them, however, taste like apples.  More so than any apple I have had in the past 30 years, outside some from a hippy store here and there.

We picked almost all of September this year.  It being the first that we have let trees bring fruit to bear instead of making roots and shoots.  Lesson learned?  We need to invest in traps for insects next year.  Trimmed too many undersized apples in August that had been used as an incubator for winged things.  Pupae bring birds and the next thing you know a bigger hole is in the fruit.  We upped the holistic spray this year to include a bacteria that is mortal to a wide array of fruit pests.  It may take a few more to really balance the population.  Until then, traps are an option.

We are down to the last few gallons of this years syrup.  Hopefully the Holiday season will entice a few more sales.  If you happen upon this from afar, we will ship.  The 1/2 litre bottles are $15 plus shipping, and a whole litre is $25 plus the mailman's cut.  As always, a larger picture can be had by clicking on the one above...
