Myopic Files Vol. 9 Iss 29 The Worlds Largest Harmonica

To soften the blow, we create euphemisms; as if word play can make up for royally making a mess of things.  Unintended consequences are justified as hindsight being Mad Dog 20/20.  All I see is people making excuses for a poorly approached decision making process.  Dr. Swill has made a career in pointing out people's inability to "Own" their decisions.  The latest example of the Rumsfeldism comes in the form of the world's largest harmonica.

Seems the Golden Gate Bridge recently went though a process to make it more aerodynamic.  Engineers were hired to redesign the railing of the pedestrian pathway and they came up with new slats to keep people from slipping under the top horizontal member.  They have been installed for more than a month now and almost immediately their unforseen unforseen began to register on the aural networks of citizens for miles.

"...engineers evidently did not take into account that when wind passes through the open gaps between the slats, it can create a very loud humming noise akin to a musical instrument."

Now San Fran is being serenaded by a cable suspension Toots Thielemans, whether they want it or not, every time the wind goes above a certain speed.  Intelligent design my keister.  Humanimal is drunk on its supposed superior intellect and opposable thumbs.  Reality is we are blindly stumbling in the dark, but never evolving echolocation.  The final implication being, no amount of engineering is going to save the planet.
