parent moves us in high school
wind up behind
what became of the reference desk

more than west of the pecos
having been in enough public bathrooms
to read the writing on the wall
bugged out years ago
to carve out a hillside
plant some seeds
then steward four acres of fruit
and some maple trees first tapped
before the tin lizzy
bumped along
the still dirt roads
in my final town
here in cow hampshire
